Some People

I saw this post on Engadget, and I thought it suitably disturbing to write a post about it.

Check out the original article that Engadget is just reposting over here at Instructables.com (which is a super site with lots of things for those of the DIY variety). There is an instruction video that will let you perform the same modification. However, I think that more people will just be interested in seeing what I’m talking about. So without further ado, here are some pictures!

A glimpse of the parts beforehand. That’s nasty.

Here is the finished product after inserting the (computer) mouse into the (real) mouse. Oh yum.

And here it is being used by someone’s hand. Who knows who that is. All I know is that I don’t want that to be my hand. And I don’t want to shake their hand either.

So there have some of the interesting pictures that I saw over at Instructables. That is disgusting, but I think that is still fairly cool. Why is that cool? Well just imagine how much more disgusted everyone else would be if they saw you use it. I could see how this could be the source of many many practical jokes. Find it gross, find it humorous, or find it useful. Whatever the case, it has to evoke some feelings in you.

Haha FYI you can leave comments as the same user name and email and your comments will show up immediately instead of having me approve them manually. Anyways, no I don’t think that I am ever going to do this. But yes, I think that you’d enjoy it a lot.

I find that amusing that you were so grossed out by this. I mean, it’s gross, but it’s not THAT gross. The mouse is already dead after all. But then again, I’m not actually using it or anything. And you’re right to think that there must be something wrong with the person(s) who thought of this idea.

@tiff
Oddly enough, I hadn’t thought of the fact that you do this all of the time. Maybe it was someone like you who thought of this. Let us hope that you’re not the next one to think of something so gross!

@william
It was a field mouse thank you very much. :P

hi,

Reusing your dead pets, in my opinion, is another great form of recycling. To get more mileage out of your dead pets, come check out all of the taxidermy projects that Instructables has to offer. And don’t forget that we’re giving away a laser cutter. Entries are due by June 17th.

Sincerely,
Randy
(on behalf of the Instructables team)

@kiki
You’re bringing up bad memories for William.

@Randy
Well re-using dead pets might be a great form of recycling, but it has to be one of the grossest and least practical of all methods of recycling. Add this to the fact that it’s fairly impractical AND the dead pets could simply be buried (where their carbon matter will break down naturally). I think that this slightly detracts from the whole recycling incentive. But to each his own (for somethings anyways).
