Google Web History

Tagged as: , May 31

Have you checked out Google Web History lately? It’s pretty scary stuff. It’s a log of what you have searched for on Google. I know that Google’s slogan is “don’t be evil,” but it is not comforting to be able to look at your past searches for weeks.

Personally I went in, cleared it and then put it on “pause.” I don’t really want anyone to be tracking what I’m searching for and building a profile on me. It just seems so invasive. And I don’t like it.

Yeah I agree that it seems like something that I don’t really want. Or something that would every be appealing to me.

Even though I hope that you have not been searching for me for the past 2 years, I hope that someone out there has been. And I hope that girl finds me soon. Haha because I know that I’ve been searching for her. ;-)

last time i checked, you had to enable google web history to get it started (?). maybe i’m mistaken. pretty disconcerting, to think that this data was collected without my knowledge.

I like the comics, indeed. I’m not sure whether you have to enable it for the Google web history to be on. I actually think that it got turned on by default because I never enabled it. Nevertheless, people should check it out and make sure that Google isn’t following your every move!
